Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being.
Similar to Yoga, Pilates concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility. In Pilates the chance of injury is much lower than other more strenuous forms of exercise.
Pilates also focuses on the mind-body connection. While doing the various exercises your mind needs to be constantly aware of your breathing and the way your body moves.
Cost
Group Class, one hour: $20.00 per person
For students who find that the current group class offerings do not fit their schedules, we would be more than happy to schedule a new class for a group of three participants or more.

Aerial yoga is a type of yoga which uses a hammock or yoga swing to allow students to perform postures that they may not ordinarily be able to attempt on the floor. It combines traditional yoga with moves inspired by pilates, dance and acrobatics. Aerial yoga is thought to be particularly beneficial for students who spend a long time sitting, or who have back pain, because it has a decompressing effect on the body.
- The hammock is generally less that a meter from the floor
- Puts less strain on your body in mid-air
- Strengthens the core as well as arms and leg to support the body being in mid-air
